The girls' softball team fell in state semi-final action 1-7 at Firestone Stadium in Akron, but SV fans were proud of the team's accomplishment in getting there and putting up a good fight. The stands were a sea of red: "Sandy Valley owned the stadium," according to one fan.

In a thrilling first for SV, the girls' softball team beat Archbold 1-0, qualifying for the state semifinal tournament Friday, to be held at Akron's Firestone Stadium.
